December 13, 2014 New Items in Trash To Treasure and Mixed Media
Big night out on Friday, June 20th! The Gallery Hop was busy, despite the pop up storms in the area. The Big Maracas rocked it out at the Rain Barrel Auction and Enrique Gonzales' rain barrel raised lots of $$$$ as it was raffled off. Who won? I don't know yet! Might be me!! :) The Artists' Attic was HoPpiN tonight, too! If you haven't been there lately, you should come see what's happening these days! Everybody's getting their artsy groove on up there. There are 3 new artist's joining us so far this year! Darrell Ishmael is the featured artist in the main gallery right now- beautiful and unique pieces made with coal dust and such. Very cool process and gorgeous results. And The Sweet Spot is decorated with my artwork now until July 30th. Stop by, grab a coffee, or ice cream, or lunch, or (my favorite) a German Chocolate Cake Truffle! Oh, and some art for your walls while you're at it. :) Don't forget to look in the cubbies by the Cake case - Little Pieces of Fun are hiding in there, too!
VOTE for your favorite Rain Barrel!! Of course, I'd like you to vote for mine, but here's the link for you to find the one you love!! June 20th is the big reveal downtown during Gallery Hop. See you there!
Made it through the month of March with my "one a day" blog posts. Whew! It was a little more work than I thought! Idid miss a couple of days, but for the most part it was a success. Making time to do this, making sure it got done regardless of what else was going on, took some effort. More than once I had already gone to bed, then jumped up to write it before I went to sleep."Where you goin?" my sleeping husband would mutter as I shuffled around looking for my house shoes, or my phone. Sigh...he's so patient. :) Anyway... I feel like it was a good exercise in focus and intention. Really good things came along because of it! I had one of my most productive artsy months I've ever had. So my suggestion to anyone that has a passion, but is finding it hard to make time for it is - JUST DO IT. Set yourself aside a small block of time to work in some small way towards that desire, that goal. Just 15 minutes a day, just one little tiny step forward. I completely believe that when you set an intention, doors open that you never even knew existed, and the universe, or God, or whatever higher power you believe in, helps you to be successful in your endeavors. Sounds a little dreamy and fluffy? Or Flaky? Eh...maybe so, but it what could it hurt to try?
