Today's artistic endeavor involved putting on my big girl panties, or boots in this case, and going out in the cold. I braved the temps and took the train to downtown Chicago, mainly because I needed to restock my food bag. Once outside, I realized it wasn't THAT bad. I mean at least the sun had made an appearance. I walked down by Shedd Aquarium to see frozen Lake Michigan. It was beautiful...and, uh...frozen. I walked to the edge to look closer at the animal footprints- mostly birds, I think. Creeped me out a little to think that if I fell off the edge of the sidewalk I might not return to tell about it. Not like in the summer when I could just swim to the side and get out. So... I took this picture and went back to Trader Joe's. On my way out, a woman was asking for spare change. I had my train pass in my teeth while I fumbled with my bags and told her I had no cash. She said "Then gimme that card and I'll eat that!" Then she just laughed and laughed and told me to have a blessed day. I guess I did :-)

Hi Delma! I just found the app called Stackables for my Iphone. I'm still playing with it, but it has some really cool customizable effects. This one was one of their "stock" effects. Thanks for reading the post! Just trying to get myself to be creative everyday, even on the road!

Great blog - I hope you keep it up all year. Just the idea of consciously looking for the creative, beauty, and artist possibility of each day is very inspiring to me. Let along what that path brings out of you. Wonderful! Merilee
